Our Spiritual GPS
Read Psalm 25:4-7
Show me your ways O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are my God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

I know from experience that getting lost on your way to the airport at four o’clock in the morning is not fun. We were alone on the road before dawn and taking our usual route to the local airport. As we enjoyed the quiet ride when, without warning, we discovered that our usual exit was closed. We had no idea that a new section of interstate had opened the day before and our old exit was gone. Confusion tempted us to panic as we took the new exit only to find that there were no directional signs at the end of the ramp. There we were, alone and lost as we found ourselves traveling into the unknown. We knew our destination but how were we going to get there? Thank goodness we have a GPS in our car which set us straight in no time and we arrived on time to catch our flight.
All of us experience unexpected changes and chaos in our lives. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had a spiritual GPS to guide us through changes such as sudden illnesses, loss of jobs, doors of opportunity closing and disappointing or broken relationships? The good news is that God has provided us with the guidance that we need and it is affordable. Our Spiritual GPS is the Bible and our Christian friends are our guides.
The next time you find yourself taking an unexpected detour in life, don’t panic. Remember, you own a spiritual GPS.
Prayer Focus: THOSE WHO ARE FEELING LOST DURING LIFE CHANGES
Almighty God, thank you for your calming presence when we are feeling lost in our everyday lives. Help us to remember that, through the Bible and our Christian friends, your Holy Spirit is with us and guiding us on our earthly journey towards our eternal home with you.
